Laura Lorenze is co-owner of Valencia Tutors. She is first and foremost a wife, mother and then a business woman. Laura has two little boys, Nathan and Nicholas and is married to Steve Lorenze, the founder and co-owner of Valencia Tutors.

Laura enjoys helping students realize their potential and is a strong believer in personal accountability. In addition to Valencia Tutors, Laura will also be opening the college counseling division of Valencia Tutors in the Fall. The college counseling division will walk families through the entire process of preparing and choosing a college or university which best meets the requirements of their student.

Dede is a special education specialist who earned masters’ degrees in special education and educational administration from California State University.  She has taught many aspects of secondary special education for students with learning disabilities, health issues, emotional disturbance and behavior disorders.  She has worked with ESL students and in home/hospital programs.  Many of her years teaching have been in alternative and correctional education settings.  Additionally, Ms. Smith holds a credential in French and is highly qualified in all core subject areas.  She volunteers as a WASC visiting committee member and serves as a consultant to schools regarding accreditation and curriculum and to families to help maximize their education options.  She chose charter schools and home study for her own children.

I Attended Dickinson State University in Dickinson, North Dakota and have a BA in Elementary Education with a Coaching minor. I also have a Multiple Subject California Teaching Credential and a North Dakota Teaching License.

What I love most about teaching is trying to find a new way to teach that student who doesn't understand something. I love to challenge all my students to meet their highest potential and surpass their expectations. I love to coach on the court and in the classroom.
