THE DUAL-CREDIT AT HOME PROGRAM offers high school students in charter, home, private and public schools our online dual credit classes that are an opportunity to get a head start and save on college.

Our exclusive university partnership with Brandman University allows students to enroll in a selection of courses that satisfy both college and high school credits. The benefits to this dual-credit at hmoe program are exciting in terms of opportunity for students to experience college level learning while still in high school.

The courses offered for dual-credit include core subject and general education classes that fulfill many university program degrees throughout the United States. Students also have the choice of taking college level classes that focus on specialized interests, allowing them to explore topics of interest they might want to pursue for a post-secondary degree.

Cost savings of taking dual-credit courses can be significant! Many students earning dual-credits are able to finish university degree programs early, saving tens of thousands of dollars on tuition and living expenses.

Additional Course Details

NUMBER OF STUDENTS

Classes that become too full or a minimum number of students are re-directed to an alternate section.

INSTRUCTIONAL PACING

Students are required to maintain certain competency levels. If levels are not maintained, the student must attend on Fridays 1:00 – 3:00 PM to reinforce educational concepts and get back on pace level.

FRIDAY CLASSES

2 Hours of instruction time is offered each and every Friday. * Additional cost for instruction is $50. This is beneficial to students who need to get back on pace or students who seek to improve their understanding of a subject and also prepare for exams.

ATTENDANCE

Courses are taught at an accelerated pace during the summer. Missed sessions significantly impact progress and success. Any missed classes MUST be made-up on Friday of the same week.

MISSED CLASSES

As agreed upon in the Academic Support Form missed classes are charged in full.

This option works best when students are significantly behind in school, not doing homework, and having challenges with organizational skills. This plan includes communication with teachers and intermittent grade checks. This plan is perfect for the student struggling with confidence, needing more comprehensive support. This plan also works well for students needing assistance in reaching and maintaining IEP goals.
